Born of a collaborative project of faculty, students and friends of the School of Translation and Interpretation at the University of Ottawa, the inaugural issue of K1N, a multilingual journal of literary translation, was launched in Spring 2012.

The name K1N, adapted from the University of Ottawa’s postal code, identifies our geographical position in the heart of a city at the crossroads of translation; however it also symbolizes the dynamic bonds of kinship that translation can forge between diverse literatures from all around the world.

In an effort to showcase a wide range of literatures, K1N welcomes translations of literary texts—from any language—into English, French, Spanish or Portuguese.

K1N is published twice a year—in Spring and in Fall. Please check our website for current submission periods and deadlines.
